Y2K Bug Invades San Francisco International Gift Fair

San Francisco, Calif. – A chocolate incarnation of the computer problem known as the Y2K Bug is invading the San Francisco International Gift Fair® August 7 through 11 at the Moscone Center and Concourse.

The Year 2K Bug™ is a 1.9 ounce ladybug-shaped milk chocolate bar sporting raised Y2K letters on its back. It was conceived and developed by Silicon Valley Confection Company (SVC2), San Jose, Calif., as a lighthearted spoof of the transition to the new millennium.

Knudsen’s Candy, Hayward, Calif. manufactures and distributes the Year 2K Bug and will feature it in its Gift Fair booth (#3009) located in the Food Focus section of Moscone Center South.

The new candy recently started appearing in stores throughout the nation. Each Year 2K Bug is individually boxed with a warning that reads “Eat it while there’s still time!™”

“What better way to take a bite out of Y2K problems than to taste one of these?” asks SVC2 president Al Abrahams. “If someone you know is struggling with Y2K, give them a Year 2K Bug and put a smile on their face.”

“Even without its special gift appeal for the new millennium, the Year 2K Bug is an appetizing, delicious chocolate that should satisfy all candy lovers,” according to David Knudsen, president of 26-year-old Knudsen’s Candy.

Stores selling the Year 2K Bug are listed on the SVC2 website at www.svc2.com. Stores wanting to fill their customers’ millennium gift needs with the Year 2K Bug may contact Knudsen’s Candy at 1-888-736-6887 or visit www.knudsens.com.
